Teen Orthodontics
Providing orthodontic care during the teenage years is one of the most effective ways of creating positive smile outcomes. Wondering why this is one of the best times for care? This is because teens have had most of their permanent teeth erupt through the gumline, and their bodies are still growing. The continued growth allows for more movement in their bone structures. At Green Valley Ranch Orthodontics (Formerly Helm Orthodontics), we are experts in teen orthodontic care. We are focused on developing, implementing, and completing teen orthodontic care in the most effective way possible. Every patient is different, that’s why we create different treatment plans for every case. Our specialized plans will create smiles that are healthy and beautiful!
We know teens can have a crazy busy lifestyle, between part-time jobs, school, friends, and extracurriculars. We offer scheduling that is flexible so you can fit us in around your schedule. We are here to support you!
Since every patient is different, we offer multiple different treatment options that can best suit your lifestyle. We offer traditional metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and Invisalign® clear aligners.
Why is Treatment During the Teen Years Important?
Orthodontic treatment during the teen years is important because it corrects potential jaw and tooth alignment issues early. Leaving misaligned jaws and teeth as they are can lead to more dental and overall health issues later in life.
Some of the advantages of implementing treatment in teens are:
- – Quick and efficient treatment as the smile develops.
- – Limit the need for complex procedures or tooth extractions.
- – Guide teeth that are growing into the correct placement.
- – Create adequate tooth spacing.
- – Creating good facial balance while perfecting their smile.
- – Limiting the risk for damage caused to misaligned or protruding teeth.
We want the entire orthodontic treatment to be one that makes you happy, positive, and achieve results that will last a lifetime!

Adult Orthodontics
Did you know that nearly one in every four orthodontic patients is an adult? Orthodontic tools like braces are often advertised on youth, but that doesn’t mean that youth can exclusively receive care. It’s never too late to start your smile straightening journey! Visiting an orthodontist is important for individuals of all ages!
Green Valley Ranch Orthodontics offers care that is specialized for adults. This includes tools like braces, ceramic braces, and Invisalign! Stop by for a consultation so we can determine which options will work best for you! We want to make sure that during every step of your smile straightening journey, you are feeling confident, comfortable and happy!
Child Orthodontics
Sometimes, your child may need orthodontic care and you don’t even realize it! It is strongly recommended that children visit an orthodontist by the age of 7. Sometimes preventative care has to start with baby teeth. We are happy to work closely with you on completing preventative care. We want to make sure we stop any potential issues before their permanent teeth grow in.
Is your child nervous at the dentist? At Green Valley Ranch Orthodontics, we hope to make the entire experience comfortable. We have experts who specialize in child orthodontic care and who can make the entire process more fun! We have built a friendly atmosphere in our clinic, from the architecture to the amazing staff! We will communicate clearly with you and your child along every single step of the process. This way you and your child will understand and grow even more comfortable with the orthodontic process designed for them.
Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment
Why is the Two-Phase Treatment Beneficial?
The Two-Phase Treatment Plan is beneficial because it provides preventative care that starts early in tooth and jaw development. By being proactive, we are creating an environment within your child’s mouth that will decrease complex care. If we don’t target potential problem areas early, they can worsen overtime. To develop your child’s smile into a healthy and comfortable smile, we start this care early and complete it once all the permanent teeth have moved to their final positions.
Following the Two-Phase Treatment plan, we have a more structured and clear path to follow when preventing and repairing issues that your child may have. Coordinated and targeted growth is easy to work on while your child is still growing. Following the Two-Phase Treatment plan will decrease the likelihood of complex treatments as their orthodontic journey continues.
Why is it Better to Start Treatment Now?
Pushing back orthodontic treatment can sometimes make orthodontic issues worse over time. If we leave these issues as they are, they can develop into more significant problems like severe overcrowding, bite problems, or even require surgery or tooth extractions. If we are proactive and prevent issues early, we can help develop your child’s smile into the best possible outcome.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children visit the orthodontist by the time they are seven years old. By developing a personalized plan before treatment is needed when they’re older, we can work towards creating better outcomes for your child’s smile.
Clear Braces with LightForce
Are you looking for a more discreet way to straighten your teeth? We have just the option for you! Lightforce Clear Braces are made with the help of 3D technology to create a clear set of brackets that are fitted exactly to your tooth shape. The colouring of these brackets will be more invisible, leading to a more aesthetic look while you go through your smile straightening path.
A key detail about the Lightforce Clear Braces is they have the potential to shorten the overall wear time of braces. This is because each and every bracket is shaped to fit exactly to the surface of your tooth rather than one standardized shape like traditional braces. This shaping will also require you to go through less adjustments during your treatment.
Invisalign® Clear Aligners for Children, Teens and Adults
Are you looking to straighten your teeth but don’t want to wear a set of traditional braces? At Green Valley Ranch Orthodontics, we offer Invisalign Clear Aligners! Invisalign clear aligners are plastic trays that are designed specifically to match your current and future smile! Invisalign can be worn by people of any age. In order to wear them, we will install some small attachments to your back teeth. This is to make sure the tray stays in place during everyday wear. The trays are also easy to remove, allowing for easy access when brushing, flossing, or eating. Invisalign is the perfect option for someone who is looking for convenience that doesn’t compromise results.
Iconix Gold Braces
Iconix brackets are light champagne colored braces designed to be more discreet while still offering strength, durability, and stain resistance. Unlike Invisalign, these brackets remain fixed to the teeth throughout treatment. Their subtle champagne tone provides a softer, more aesthetic alternative to traditional silver braces. This makes them an excellent option for patients who want something less noticeable than metal braces but prefer not to use Invisalign.
Surgical Orthodontics
Sometimes, surgery is required in some orthodontic cases. Usually these cases are severe and will require more work than what basic orthodontic tools, like braces, can offer alone. These severe cases can include instances such as correcting jaw irregularities. Our doctors work closely together with oral surgeons to ensure that their combined orthodontic and surgical expertise are aligned to give you the best possible results.
